The school will be targeted mainly at the undergraduate level. Postgraduate and young research scholars are also encouraged to apply. About the CCSU Astronomy and Astrophysics Summer School 2016
Cotton College State University is organizing the “CCSU Astronomy and Astrophysics Summer School 2016″ To introduce highly motivated students to the fascinating world of astronomy. The Astronomy and Astrophysics Summer Classes will be in between 21st June and 12th July 2016 at the University campus at Panbazar, Guwahati. CCSU organizing the Astronomy and Astrophysics Summer School 2016 with financial support from National Centre for Radio Astrophysics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (NCRA-TIFR), Pune & Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India.
The School will cover a wide range of topics which will include Stars and Stellar Evolution, Variable Star Astronomy, Binary Star Light Curve Modeling, Interstellar Medium, Pulsars, Gravitational Waves, Galaxies, Clusters of Galaxies and Active Galaxies, Cosmology, Large-scale Structure Formation and many more interesting topics in Astronomy & Astrophysics. Apart from the lectures delivered by various resource persons, there will be hands-on sessions in data analysis, intensive tutorials and screening of astronomy-related movies. The faculty will include well-known Astronomers and Astrophysicists.

Cotton College State University recently issued the online application for Astronomy and Astrophysics Summer School 2016. The online applications are invited from highly motivated students to participate in a summer school on Astronomy & Astrophysics to be organized by Cotton College State University, Guwahati from 21st June to 12th July 2016.
The school is mainly aimed at students pursuing their undergraduate studies (preferably in Physics and Mathematics) in colleges in and around Guwahati. Participants are expected to have a sound background in Physics and Mathematics at the Higher Secondary level. Postgraduate students and Research Scholars are also encouraged to apply. The school will consist of lectures and intensive tutorials. Selected students from Cotton College State University may opt for credits through active participation in the summer school.

Interested candidates are requested to apply online using the online-form available in the CCSU website www.ccsu.ac.in. Candidates will be required to pay a registration fee of Rs. 1500 through an ICICI bank challan available in the University website.
